Review and Selection Process
If interested in presenting to the Garden Club Angels, please fill out our Company Basic Information form Link and submit it with your business plan summary to info@GardenClubAngels.org. Your information will then be forwarded to the Garden Club Angles Deal Recruitment Committee for review. If the opportunity appears to be a good fit for the investors then the committee will schedule a prescreening meeting prior to extending an invitation to present to the Garden Club at their monthly meeting.
Selected Companies Process
During the time between selection and presentation, the Angels provide value-added preparatory services to the companies. In concert with selected service providers, the Garden Club will help the companies refine both their written and oral presentations in preparation for the meeting. Each company has 15 minutes to present followed by a 20 minute Q/A session.
Follow-up
Garden Club members invest directly; there is no legal pooling of resources. However, when there is a substantial interest a meeting is arranged within two weeks of the presentation so that interested members may ask additional questions to the company. This also provides an opportunity for an organized syndicate of individual angels to be formed for the purpose of evaluating the company, negotiating a set of terms, and executing an investment.
Expectations
Obviously this is a competitive dynamic. Nevertheless, our goal is to provide as much value as we can to all companies that pitch to the Garden Club. Many companies that do not progress further in our process still benefit from it; especially those that make it to the group presentation.
